Films by Brooke

The normal everyday things you want to remember.

Lifestyle films for families wanting to bottle up these memories so you can feel them all over again.

Documenting your season as it is.

I’m a quiet observer who prefers to capture moments as they unfold naturally. I focus on candid interactions that display your natural expressions of love and connection. With that being said, I will offer guidance and ideas when needed.

When filming, I try to be sensitive to the comfort levels of your family. If I feel like someone needs a break, then I focus on other members of the family or capture details in your home.

I’m not expecting perfect behavior from your kids or even a tidy home.

What to do during a shoot?

In a pre-session questionnaire, I ask what your days look like and what your kids enjoy doing. A lifestyle shoot can include wake-ups, meals, and bath time. You can bake sugar cookies, play games, or visit your favorite park. It helps to have a few things planned, but they should be things that you normally do as a family. It will help you and your kids feel more comfortable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you travel for lifestyle films?

Absolutely! However, my travel expenses will need to be covered. Typically this includes driving costs/airline ticket, car rental, and lodging (unless you have something for me!) for locations 100 miles outside of Lawrence, Kansas.

What are still images from film?

After editing your film, I will select scenes to export as images. They'll be high resolution images but won't be further edited, cropped, or photoshopped.

What can I expect from you on the shoot?

The goal is to document your life as it is. I won't be directing you the whole time or asking you a ton of questions. I'm an introvert who loves observing the world around me. With that being said, I am here to offer guidance or ideas when needed. I’m not expecting perfect behavior from your kids. If I feel like someone needs a break, then I focus on other members of the family or capture details in your home.

What's the benefit of a longer session?

Being with your family longer than just an hour or two means more natural moments. I have time to get to know your family and likewise your family with me. With everyone at ease, your family’s natural interactions come out. It also gives us time to really tell the story of your day. It’s also beneficial in terms of natural light because we can follow it as it illuminates different rooms in your home.
